Communities Uplifting Learners Through Imagination and Vibrant Artistic Reflections

We are an arts education grant awarded to Texas A&M University-San Antonio in partnership with the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. The purpose of CULTIVAR is to establish arts integrated learning by building on an individual's embracing of their cultural and linguistic identities through creativity and art. We ground our work in Yosso's research in Community Cultural Wealth: Aspirational, Linguistic, Social, Navigational, and Familial Capital.

Our Curriculum

The CULTIVAR curriculum is designed to provide teachers with the resources they need to improve and enhance their classroom instruction by having students demonstrate their learning, and express their personal and cultural identity, through art.

Community Events

A Convivio is an event where members of the community gather to share a meal, interact with a thematic arts integrated experience, and grow together.

A Cafecito is a school event where we partner with the school leadership team to provide important information to the families and create art with their children connected to the Convivos and CULTIVAR curriculum.

Feild trips and theater experiences are integrated as opportunities arise.
